Awaken Now for Your Birthday-A Poem

Awaken Now for Your Birthday

by Effie Darlene Barba

God did touch your heart and say

Come forth, my child come forth today

Your life ‘til now formed you to be

A Wondrous mirror reflecting me

My Grace and Love that gave you life

Will be there through this world of strife

Remember child, I’ll always be

One breath, one prayer away-you see

I have a plan based on my grace

To bring you close to see my face

For now, I’ve asked your Mom and Dad

To be the ones to make you glad

Providing all that you will need

To grow in Grace and to succeed

Becoming all that I have planned

The perfect life I so designed

That you might reach and take my hand

One day before my throne to stand

The life I gave you months ago

I placed within your Mom to grow

It’s time to leave where you did stay

Awaken now for your Birthday

Every Birthday a Celebration of Birth, Life, Hope and Joy

[bctt tweet=”Every Birthday should be a celebration of God’s Grace and love toward us.  A life that began nine months ago in the womb comes forth as a perfect reflection of God’s love and grace to each of us.  ” username=”effiedarlene”]

For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth. By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge. Psalm 71:5-7

For thou hast possessed my reins (you have formed me and known me) : thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.  Psalm 139:13-14

My Dear Precious Girls: A Tribute to Annabella and Clara

My Dear Precious Girls

A Tribute to Annabella Grace and Clara Noelle Barba

By “Grammy” Effie Darlene Barba

I thought of my dear precious girls

With spiky hair or bouncy curls

How do they make my heart so light

Filled with such memories, joy, delight

They are ever so close within my heart

The Grace of God’s Hand toward me did impart

To let me spend these years oh so near

The laughter, the joys and even the tears

My precious dancer, Annabella Grace

Expressive princess with her gorgeous face

Imagination so acutely alive, she’d say

Grammy, Grammy let’s go and play

Each game she would craft with minute detail

My part designed so I could not fail

Then Clara Noelle, a heart full of joy

Who laughed, and smiled or sometimes was coy

Her strength and endurance rising above

To conquer life trials by her enduring love

Although for now I live so far away

I think of you both and this I do pray,

“O Father dear let each child do know

The depth of love my heart doth bestow

Yet, more important, let them do see

Your love for them, to be fully their glee

Fill their young hearts with love for you Lord

Teach them that you are the greatest reward

You are the hope the joy that their heart desires

The wisdom and strength life’s journey requires

And let them know that You are the One

Who gave to them freely your Precious Son

That through His name theirs will always be

A life so filled with love and victory.

My Dear Precious Girls,

This is a note to say, I love you and miss you.  Grammy.  God has a perfect plan for each of us and I’ll come to visit soon. You have such a wonderful Mommy and Daddy there with you.  Now, I am here to be with Haley and Aiden for a while.  I love you all plus Natalie too.  Wish I had you all together.  See you sweethearts as soon as I can.

Thanksgiving Day Song

A Thanksgiving Day Song

As I look back over all my years
Amazing Joy or sometimes tears
Each winding road, an Act of Grace
That I might seek Your Glorious Face
And as my life draws nearer to You
I came to know Your words were True
Those Words that drew me near your heart
And bid me stay and ne’er depart

Chorus:

Oh let my joy then ever be
A song of Grace that sets men free
From all the chains that tightly bind
Or foolish pride that makes hearts blind
Thanksgiving would be greater still
Each day conformed unto Your will
A truly thankful heart be mine
When Humbly filled with Joy Divine

II
How foolish I at times have been
My faltering steps and wretched sin
I searched this world in hopes to find
A love so true, so sweet and kind
I did not see the tears You shed
Consider that for me You bled
No greater treasure could  be mine
As Your beloved, our hearts entwined

Chorus:

Oh let my joy then ever be
A song of Grace that sets men free
From all the chains that tightly bind
Or foolish pride that makes hearts blind
Thanksgiving would be greater still
Each day conformed unto Your will
A truly thankful heart be mine
When Humbly filled with Joy Divine

III
Lord, hold me tight within Your arms
Tis there I’m safe from all life’s harms
My head pressed firm upon Your chest
For just a moment let me rest
And let me gaze at Your Sweet smile
As on we walk each winding mile
My dearest love, You are my King
It is for You I must now sing

Chorus:

Oh let my joy then ever be
A song of Grace that sets men free
From all the chains that tightly bind
Or foolish pride that makes hearts blind
Thanksgiving would be greater still
Each day conformed unto Your will
A truly thankful heart be mine
When Humbly filled with Joy Divine

How Can I Know What is Really True?

As a nation, we must be on our knees praying.  So for a moment, turn off the noise and pray.  God is still on His throne and knows what is really true.

How Can I Know What’s Really True?

I listened to the news today

My heart so heavy, now I pray

Dear Father, please, I ask of you

How can I know what’s really true?

They talk and talk incessantly

Until the truth I cannot see

But Lord, I know Your Word is true

And so, Your truth I do pursue

Turn off the noise, turn off the sound

Before in words my heart is drowned

So, let me sit here at your side

Safe in your love, I can abide

For all man’s talk can never heal

The hate, the sin that is so real

You are the only one who can

Transform the heart of evil man

And so, I humbly bow my head

Filled by hope, Your words I’ve read

Your Joy, Your love to fill each day

Protecting me along the way

The pains and sorrows You erase

Each time I gaze upon Your face

Your Glory shining oh so bright

Into the darkness of my night

So, fill my heart with You today

That I might know just what to say

To lead someone to see Your Son

The truth, the victory He has won

So, one by one help them to see

Their only hope to be set free

From all the hate and bigotry

Was purchased there on Calvary

And lift the darkness o’er this land

Your light to shine, that truth may stand

You are our only hope today

For this I bow to you to pray

DO YOU KNOW CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR?

America Great Again-Together We Can

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Matthew 7:15-16

America Great Again

by Effie Darlene Barba

In dark of night I heard the cries

The moans of the oppressed

Corruption rampant, woeful lies

While truth was ne’er addressed

Our leaders filled with prideful lust

Seeking power to control

Spewed lies of hate, mistrust

That pierced our very soul

BRIDGE:

With no remorse

They set their course

And cried You’re all to blame

Deplorable

Irredeemable

They tried to cause us shame

And right before their final blow

The truth we came to know

CHORUS:

Arising then I heard the sound

That rose from shore to shore

Shouts of hope that did abound

As all believed once more

We are a nation built on truth

A bond that holds us tight

The pride of which we taught our youth

It is our strength and might

Awakened now our hearts to sing

Afresh our song of love

As freedom’s bell begins to ring

Our flag waves high above

We, the people of this land

Diverse in many ways

As one unite to take a stand

Our minds and hearts ablaze

We slumbered, which was our mistake

Repentant of our sin

Together, hand in hand we’ll make

America Great Again

I find it amazing how those who hate attempt to project that hate on their opponent.  Secretary Clinton tries to spin a rhetoric of division and hate.  She was in her own words proudly “mentored” by Senator Robert Byrd who lead the KKK in West Virginia.  Yet, she tries to project that connection on Donald Trump.

She was the one who for her own financial gain, approved the sale of Uranium to Russia; while, then trying to say Donald Trump has a connection with Russia to incite the old cold war fears within the hearts of the American people.  She would prefer to risk a War with Russia rather than to be caught in her own lies; knowing full well that those who leaked emails were more likely whistle-blowers and not foreign government hackers.

I awoke this morning early to write this song of hope! A reminder that we are a nation built on truth, dignity. WE THE People of this nation are NOT irredeemable, deplorable and we must not believe the lies. Instead, we must stand strong to say: “Speak for yourself, Secretary Clinton; we are not the racist bigot–you are” We love our country, our people–ALL of them; and we are the United States of America, one nation under God, INDIVISIBLE with liberty and justice for ALL. We will not be divided by your rhetoric and lies.

[tweetthis]Together hand in hand-every man woman&child will make America Great Again[/tweetthis]

If you still have doubts: watch this–all based on facts we have seen:

One thing they did not expect.  They thought it would be easy to win against Mr. Trump; after all they had so much they could use against an outsider, a billionaire who had never planned his life around politics.  What they did not expect was his love for America and the transformation that God would make within his heart, spirit and soul.  What they did not expect was God’s plan and that in truth, it was God who chose Donald J. Trump for such a moment and such a time.
