With heavy hearts, we weep with all those in Parkland, Florida. Realizing such evil exists forces us to stop and think. Where do we turn and what can we do to combat such evil? There is only one hope that can reach the depths of broken souls such as Nikolas Cruz before such a tragedy occurs. That is the gospel message of Jesus Christ; yet, we have banned the Bible and even individual prayer from our schools. We bought into the lies of the secular humanists throughout the twentieth century, even as Christians. The consequences of our silence led us to now toward a place of hopeless nihilism as a society; where anger roars and life is no longer a thing to cherish. There is only one to overcome evil and that is the gospel message of Jesus Christ.
As I pray for all those lives lost, those injured and all their families in Florida; I find I must also pray for Nikolas. Not that he ever be let loose; no, he must pay the full price for his act-even if that means the death sentence. However, I do pray for his soul; that, he might find Christ. Below is an excerpt from “When God Commanded Build that Wall plus The Evil Within.” Could all of this have been prevented if someone had reached out to Nikolas with the gospel of Jesus Christ? What if a teacher had been allowed to tell him of faith? We will never know; however, we must consider those questions.
“FACING THE LIES, FINDING TRUTH
Before we can face the evil within; we each must stop and look at how we arrived in this place to begin with. Gradually, we embraced the ideologies of the secular humanist movement and gave them the power to overtake our thought systems; making us question God. They infiltrated our political system, our laws, and our schools. Suddenly, we felt guilty for our faith in Jesus Christ. We apologized to our children, our neighbors, and our Christian friends for our beliefs. It is no wonder we have reached this place in history. So, what can we do? Over the next few chapters, I want to expose the fallacies of the Secular Humanistic Worldview and present for you a case for Christianity. Only after we grasp the truth, can we confront the future. Knowledge is key.
Only the Bible presents for us the truth of the human condition and a means of salvation. Only in Christ Jesus can we find our true identity; abounding with true hope, joy, love and strength. Created in the image of God; our hearts long for royalty, righteousness, and the life we were created for. Yet, free will allows us to choose; and mankind repeatedly chooses self-promotion and self-reliance. Which is why we in general remain so restless, disenchanted, unsatisfied, and in general, miserable human beings; unless, we turn to Jesus Christ. The Bible reveals the reality of mankind’s dilemma. We need to be born again as a new creature in Christ Jesus; so, that we might fulfill the destiny originally planned by God for the human race.
The Gospel of Christ-Our Only Hope for The Evil Within
Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and that committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).
CONCLUSION:
All the social experiments of the secular humanists have failed to bring peace. They failed in Germany (under Hitler), in the Socialist regime of Stalin, and they have lead us to a place of division, anger and relativism in the United States. Christians allowed these false ideologies in and allowed them to gain great power; because, deep down we wanted to believe in our own “goodness without God.” Yet, without God, where is there any foundation for “good?” Relativism, militant atheism, a desire for socialism, and nihilism plagues our youth. Is it too late for our country? I don’t think so; God’s promises have always remained true and His promise to Israel was:
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
That same promise is to us today; if we seek Him.”[1]
We can no longer remain silent as evil continues to grow. We must reach out to all those who are lost and bring them the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is our only hope.
