Really, God? That is the battle plan for Victory?
Truth is hard sometimes. Today it felt like a knife ripping through my heart. A Battle was raging within my spirit and I needed to know the battle plan. I needed to know God’s battle plan for my life. When I started my blog in 2010, I started it with one purpose in mind. I wanted just to tell any weary disheartened soul that might find my page; “There is hope in Christ.” Occasionally along this path of blogging, speaking and writing; I get caught in the dream of growing this to where I could do it full time. How glorious it be to be able to make a living helping people find a joyous life in Christ!! Yet, I have been unwilling to compromise and allow advertising on my site; because, I haven’t found a way to control the advertising well enough. I want the message of Christ to go out to the world!! Not a bunch of conflicting commercials that may cause harm. For me the time, the money and the work I do with this website is a labor of love first and foremost for my Savior and for you whomever might come to read for a while.

REFLECTION AND REFOCUS
Today I realized that once more I had allowed myself to become concerned about “growing my numbers and pressing forward to success.” I have been studying, rewording, revamping and doing what all the sources say do. That is not the problem. The problem comes only if I lose sight of the true purpose for which I began this ministry.
If my website never hits 50K readers, will I keep writing? I thought hard about it and came back with the same answer I have every year for the past 5 years. Yes, because if it reaches even one soul for Christ, then it is worth it. If one person stumbles onto my “How to be Saved Page” and finds Christ; God’s Victory is won-even if I never know whose life was changed. I cannot lose sight of why I write. What if you are the only one I am supposed to be writing for? What if God uses one word to encourage you on your journey? Then I must keep writing. My desire is to open your eyes a tiny bit wider so that you see the Magnificent Beauty of Christ and seek him with all your heart. When I was thinking about the battle in my own heart today, I remembered Joshua and the battle of Jericho.
JOSHUA AND JERICHO
Remember that battle? Joshua had through the years learned one thing. The battle plan was God’s Battle plan and the Victory was God’s Victory. The battle plans would have seemed foolish to any other General; but, Joshua knew the only way to Victory was with God’s battle plan. He went into battle with the unarmed priests leading the way. The only weapon? A trumpet. Really God? That is the Battle Plan for Victory? They marched around these impenetrable walls every day for seven days. Then on the seventh day they marched around the walls seven times, blew their horns, and shouted. What a sight that must have been! Think about it; how, ridiculous did they look? The people inside the walls of Jericho certainly must have been wondering what kind of plan was this. You know the story? If not, I urge you to go read Joshua 6.
WHATEVER THE VICTORY; LET IT BE GOD’S
Today I am reminded that I cannot allow myself to get so focused on the numbers that I forget the purpose. This battle of life, this Christian journey must be fought with God’s Battle Plan if we are to know victory. It may not be the plan we would think it should be. Perhaps we would wish it had a little more glamor or rewards; but, the truth is. [bctt tweet=”Battles are won by the soldiers in the trenches “] I will keep writing, because deep in my heart I know I must. I will continue to speak and proclaim the name of Christ; because, my heart won’t let me cease to do so.
TO ALL YOU SOLDIERS IN THE TRENCHES OUT THERE REMEMBER THIS:
1. God Loves You and His Plan for you is Good (Zephaniah 3:17; Jeremiah 29:11; Jeremiah 31:3)
2. God’s Battle Plan for you is Victory in Christ (I Corinthians 15:57)
3. God will protect you in the trenches and will one day honor you with His Medal of Honor for all the service you have done when He will proclaim, “Well done, my good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).
A PRAYER FOR YOU
My prayer for each of you, my dear readers, is this: “17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named,” (Ephesians 1).
