5 Truths to Audacious Faith in a Parched Life

5 Truths to Audacious Faith in a Parched Life

All alone, I once more was packing up a house to load a truck and cross the country to go where I was certain that God had commanded I go. Going through all the “stuff” and downsizing. How do we accumulate so much stuff over time? Stuff that seemed so trivial and unnecessary. Trinkets and objects that perhaps once seemed important were now what I was discarding. I sighed with the thought, “How much money wasted that could have been used for something more important?” I was tired of moving while at the same time filled with the anticipation of what God had planned. Though I was wearied by my life’s journey, I had over the years learned that God loved me with an everlasting love, God had a perfect plan for my life, and He was the treasure I sought in what was often a dry and thirsty land. Through all the pains, sorrows, surgeries, and losses of this life; God had been there to guide me. I had loaded the final box. Then the trailer hauling my car was attached behind. Tired and exhausted I went to the empty house to sleep on the floor before leaving the next day. I wasn’t certain what awaited me in Missouri; but, this I knew. God was with me and before me. He had a plan and that was for my good.

TENTS IN THE DESERT

Abraham had headed out into a land unknown because God said go. There were times when Abraham got lost along the way. There were times when Abraham’s faith waivered; but, in his heart—he loved God. He believed God. He always returned to the altar where he was willing to place his greatest earthly treasure because he trusted God. His faith had grown wandering in that desert. He had come to learn of God’s faithfulness. More importantly, he had come to realize that the promises of God were still yet to come. God would one day, through the seed of Abraham send down His own greatest treasure to be poured out as a sacrifice that all nations might be blessed. Christ would come; just not in Abraham’s earthly lifetime.

5 Thoughts that Lead to a Vibrantly Positive Life

POWER-FILLED POSITIVE LIVING-CHAPTER 20c—5 Thoughts that Lead to a Vibrantly Positive Life

The last two days I was blessed with going on a road trip that took me on a 5 hour drive there and another 5 hours to return. What an incredible trip. I love driving down the road with God beside me, listening to Christian music, and looking at God’s magnificent creation. As I drove along, I would lose the radio station and have to search for a new one. I seemed to find K-love all along the route except two areas where instead I found preachers—both were new to me and both had amazing sermons as though just for me.

God's Glory displayed

Amazing how God covers every tiny detail, every second of timing, and every need of my heart. He does that for each and every one of His children. There is not a millisecond of time in your life or mine that He is not in control of your surroundings.

As I began this road trip there were some very specific prayer needs I had for myself, for my family, and for my friends which I knew would each need a miracle. For that reason, I began my journey in fasting prayer. Early in the trip I hit a storm that cautiously I drove through and then surrounding me was some of the most beautiful countryside as the rainstorm stopped and the brilliance of the sun peaked through fluffy clouds and such beautiful shades of blue sky. The trees, meadows, and hills were painted with so many shades of green. So many breathtaking photos forever etched in my mind to remind me of just how amazingly beautiful God’s Glorious creation is. God had etched so much detail into every part of His creation. I was overwhelmed by joy, peace, hope and love that it felt as if my heart would burst.

Thoughts of the Heart-The Positive Thinking that Matters-

Power-filled Positive Living-Chapter 20B—Thoughts of the Heart-The Positive Thinking that Matters

Knowing Christ as my Savior doesn’t automatically transform me into this positive thinking, joyous person; although, it should. All one has to do is to meet a few Christians to know that; yet, we have been given everything that we need to be “always rejoicing.” So, why aren’t we? Is there some kind disconnect inside our brain between knowing the truth of our position in Christ and really embracing it fully? We have all heard the stories of someone living like a pauper and upon their death it is discovered within their home millions of dollars stashed away. They were rich; yet, they never enjoyed the benefits of those riches.

thoughts of my heart

As Christians, we are richly blessed with spiritual blessings; yet, often live our lives as though we are spiritual paupers. “28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40).
