United, the Land of the Free

Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.  Revelations 1:4-6 (NKJV)

United, The Land of the Free

By Effie Darlene Barba

Anger and hate, division and strife

Filling the streets, choking out life

How do we, Lord, know what really is true?

When lies, hate and fear are all that they spew

They scream they want love, that all should unite

By disruption, destruction all through the night

The media lies, the elitists do cheer

Controlling the mobs with hate and with fear

The Power they want, held tight in their hand

If division remains in the heart of the land

How can they not see, how can they not know?

That You are the hope for we creatures below.

By Grace You have stretched out Your loving hand

To the broken, forgotten, each lost soul of this land

You bid them to come and rest in Your peace

Where anger, division, and fear all will cease

To trust in Your love and to Rest in Your Grace

Whatever their background, their creed or their race

You are the one who can set their heart free

Open their eyes that they might then see

That love can be found deep in each heart

When anger and fear has been bid to depart

By Your gift of salvation, bought by Your Son

In Whom we are woven United each one

A Nation of hope for the world all to see

The Truth of the Words “The land of the free”
