The Father’s Loving Plea on this Thanksgiving Day

7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Micah 6

On this Thanksgiving Day, let us each and everyone stop to consider the Father’s loving plea to us. In a world so caught up in counterfeit joys, let us for a moment consider the truth of God. He who gives us life and being. Created in His image, yet, given the liberty to choose. As we look around us and inside our own hearts, let us examine for a moment all that we see.

Has humankind become more kind, loving, and united in joy, love and peace by seeking after humanism. Have we of our own efforts evolved this world into a Utopia? No, because only God can make that which is infinitely good, righteous, and just. Only He can shine forth truth and light into the deception and darkness, humans have chosen. Why would He allow all this? Could He not have caused everything to remain good? Yes, but then there would have been no choice for you and without choice you could have never understood all of His attributes, nor could you have known what love or mercy is. You would have been no more than a programmed robot. Would that have been loving or kind? I think not.

The FATHER’S Loving Plea: Free to choose

Instead, God chose to allow all of us to see the depth of depravity, that we might see the magnitude of Glory. Always providing a way for our salvation, if only we choose. He willingly came to earth and paid the price for our sin, that we might through faith know Him and know what is truly good, kind, and beautiful beyond our own imaginations. And why has He not yet returned to change all this? He is waiting with patience that you might choose Him. That one more might come to know Him. How long will he wait? We do not know but we do know, one day their foot shall slip. He will not tarry forever.

Deuteronomy 32

“Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak;
And hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
Let my [a]teaching drop as the rain,
My speech distill as the dew,
As raindrops on the tender herb,
And as showers on the grass.
For I proclaim the name of the Lord:
Ascribe greatness to our God.
He is the Rock, His work is perfect;
For all His ways are justice,
A God of truth and without injustice;
Righteous and upright is He.

“They have corrupted themselves;
They are not His children,
Because of their blemish:
A perverse and crooked generation.
Do you thus deal[b] with the Lord,
O foolish and unwise people?
Is He not your Father, who bought you?
Has He not made you and established you?

“For they are a nation void of counsel,
Nor is there any understanding in them.
29 Oh, that they were wise, that they understood this,
That they would consider their latter end!

Is this not laid up in store with Me,
Sealed up among My treasures?
35 Vengeance is Mine, and recompense;
Their foot shall slip in due time;
For the day of their calamity is at hand,
And the things to come hasten upon them.’

36 “For the Lord will judge His people
And have compassion on His servants,

One day He will return, but until that day, the Father’s Loving Plea continues on.

The Father’s Loving Plea

What have I done to you my child
That you would scorn my love, defiled
The grace with which I reached for you
Cast aside for something new
Chasing after some new toy
When I alone could give you joy
What was the reason that you ran
Believing lies you chose your plan
So far away from me you trod
Forgetting I am your One true God

Before the earth was ever born
I loved you, named you, and did adorn
You with a life, a heart, a song
I wanted you to then belong
Forever safe within my arms
Protected, loved from all life’s harms
Yet, without choice you’d never know
The depth of love I could bestow
You’d never feel a love so true
If choice was never given you

And so, my child I bid you turn
From all the passions that you yearn
For they will only cause you grief
And rob your joy just as a thief
Does steal all that is truly good
Destruction left where once you stood
Despair and pain do rob your soul
The bitter lies do take their toll
Oh, hear me sounding forth alarms
Pursuing you with open arms

What does the Lord require of you?
To hold fast My truth, the truth you knew
Was written in your heart and more
It shineth forth from shore to shore
Humbly bow before My throne
Where there you name, your being known
Surrender all into My hands
So, I may heal your heart, your lands
One day, oh soon, I’ll say it’s done
Restoring Justice in My Son

And on that day, oh let it be
You stand with Him, in victory
Do not be left behind in scorn
Eternally to weep and mourn
When Christ has paid the price for you
By faith alone, I will renew
Your heart of stone, I’ll take away
That you might live with Me that day
I will not force you, you are free
That is the price of liberty

And yet, I bid you come to me
Where I will truly set you free
From earthly bonds and sin filled chains
That injure you and cause such pains
Jesus came and died for you
To pay the price that’s justly due
For every thought and deed you’ve done
I placed upon my dear, dear son
So willingly he bore the pain
To wash you clean, remove each stain
And cloak you in His righteousness
If only you in faith confess

Mercy, love and grace my gift
To all who now are lost, adrift
Upon the tempest storms of life
So tortured by the sorrow, strife
Just come accept my gift of love
I bid you from my throne above
I will forever hold you tight
Will all my strength and all my might
That one day soon you too may see
The Glory of my Majesty

The Sky Grew Dark That Fate-Filled Day

15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.

16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, 17 comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work. 2 Thessalonians 2

Certainly at times it seems that all around me is fading into darkness. So much anger, strife, and suffering in the world. However, whenever that happens, I reflect upon that fate filled day when the sky grew black as they lead Jesus away to die upon that cross. Then, I remember and have hope. This darkness is but the beginning of the dawn. In Genesis, God wrote each day concerning creation, “the evening and the morning were the day.” The darkness comes before the morning light. As I pondered upon these things, I wrote this poem

The Sky Grew Dark that Fate filled Day

The Sky grew dark that fate-filled day
As from the Cross my Lord did say
It is finished-it was His battle cry
As then He bowed His head to die
Oh, What is this? Is all now lost?
Was this the price of sin? The cost
To save my wretched selfish heart
Perfect Love was torn apart
Spirit, Father turned their back
The earth did quake. The sky turned black
Hope Appeared to die that day
But had we not heard Him say
He would rise again to set us free
Over sin and death came victory
The story did not end that day
He rose again to lead the way
For all who humbly call His name
Acknowledge guilt of sin and shame
By faith accept His sacrifice
And there receive eternal life
To stand before His Glorious throne
As His Beloved You are there known

How dark the clouds, the earth today
Finished, some do shout and say
Evil circles us around this world
Where truth is crushed and lies hurled
Just as hope seems to fade away
I heard my Savior’s voice then say
My Love, the end has just begun
But as you know, the victory’s won
The end of sorrows, pain and fear
Is coming soon, it’s almost here
All of this a minor cost
To bring to Me the lame, the lost
So, look my dear into my eyes
I’ll take your sorrows, pains and sighs
Replace them with my heart of love
My peace, my joy to rise above
All the darkness of this land
You’re firmly held in my right hand
Eternity will soon begin
Just wait a while, you know we win
Just as I promised long ago
My word I left that you might know
I am the way, the truth, the life
The only one who conquered strife

And so my question is dear friends, do you know Him? The skies grew dark on that fate-filled day. Yet, He rose again to win the victory over pain, sin, death, and strife. He is returning again soon. Although it may appear dark, the night is its darkest just before the dawn. He is coming again soon.

2 Thessalonians 2

2 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Do Not Forget even as the sky grew dark

5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the [d]mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.

9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Stand Fast

13 But we are [f]bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, 14 to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When the World Falls Apart  Remember Jeremiah’s Song of Hope in God

22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him!” Lamentations 3 (NKJV)

When one considers all the sorrows, stresses, and fears that seem to surround us.  So many masses distraught by their circumstances.  Famines, wars, rumors of war, pestilence, violence, and the constant noise of evil pressing in from every side.   What is one to do?  I become sometimes overwhelmed by the masses living their lives in quiet desperation.  If only I could tell them the truth.  The good news of the gospel.  Jesus is everything their heart desires.  If only they could hear me.  But alas, who am I to speak out and who will listen.  As this world plunges forward into darkness, who will listen to this my cry of hope?  As I pondered these thoughts, I remembered Jeremiah.  His words inspired this poem which I have titled the Jeremiah’s song.

God called Jeremiah to leave his beloved fiancé and his family to go out and proclaim the truth of God’s word to a nation who did not want to hear truth.  They preferred the lies of their own making.  Much like our world today.  God told Jeremiah, no one will listen; but keep on preaching anyway.  His family turned against him.  He was beaten, jailed, spit on and mocked; yet, Jeremiah remained faithful.  Then on that day when Jerusalem was burned to the ground around him (for he sat in a jail), he was spared that day.  Escaping to Egypt where he was then stoned to death by his fellow Israelites who had escaped with him.  But he wrote these words in Lamentations before his death.  Let them ring deep into your heart today as they did mine.

Jeremiah’s Song:  Lamentations 3:1-18—the sorrows surrounding

I am the man who has seen affliction by the rod of His wrath.
He has led me and made me walk
In darkness and not in light.
Surely He has turned His hand against me
Time and time again throughout the day.

He has aged my flesh and my skin,
And broken my bones.
He has besieged me
And surrounded me with bitterness and [a]woe.
He has set me in dark places
Like the dead of long ago.

He has hedged me in so that I cannot get out;
He has made my chain heavy.
Even when I cry and shout,
He shuts out my prayer.
He has blocked my ways with hewn stone;
He has made my paths crooked.

10 He has been to me a bear lying in wait,
Like a lion in [b]ambush.
11 He has turned aside my ways and torn me in pieces;
He has made me desolate.
12 He has bent His bow
And set me up as a target for the arrow.

13 He has caused the [c]arrows of His quiver
To pierce my [d]loins.
14 I have become the ridicule of all my people—
Their taunting song all the day.
15 He has filled me with bitterness,
He has made me drink wormwood.

16 He has also broken my teeth with gravel,
And [e]covered me with ashes.
17 You have moved my soul far from peace;
I have forgotten [f]prosperity.
18 And I said, “My strength and my hope
Have perished from the Lord.”

Jeremiah’s Song- Lamentations 3:   19-26 God is Faithful

19 Remember my affliction and roaming,
The wormwood and the [g]gall.
20 My soul still remembers
And [h]sinks within me.
21 This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I have hope.

22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him!”

25 The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.
26 It is good that one should hope and wait quietly
For the salvation of the Lord.

When Jeremiah remembers all his sorrows, he also remembers the mercies of God that carried him through each day.  It was God’s love and grace that carried him through the toughest of times.  The love of God was more important than any other pleasures this world could offer him.

Jeremiah’s Song:  Lamentations 3: 27:41  The Magnitude of God’s Grace

27 It is good for a man to bear
The yoke in his youth.

28 Let him sit alone and keep silent,
Because God has laid it on him;
29 Let him put his mouth in the dust—
There may yet be hope.
30 Let him give his cheek to the one who strikes him,
And be full of reproach.

31 For the Lord will not cast off forever.
32 Though He causes grief,
Yet He will show compassion
According to the multitude of His mercies.
33 For He does not afflict [i]willingly,
Nor grieve the children of men.

34 To crush under one’s feet
All the prisoners of the earth,
35 To turn aside the justice due a man
Before the face of the Most High,
36 Or subvert a man in his cause—
The Lord does not approve.

37 Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass,
When the Lord has not commanded it?
38 Is it not from the mouth of the Most High
That woe and well-being proceed?
39 Why should a living man [j]complain,
A man for the punishment of his sins?

40 Let us search out and examine our ways,
And turn back to the Lord;
41 Let us lift our hearts and hands
To God in heaven.

When one considers the truth of their own heart they will know the magnitude of grace God has shown.  I do not DESERVE His grace; yet, He gave it to me anyway.  What I deserved was the cross.  My heart does not love with a purity of love, nor does my life shine forth perfect righteousness as is His.  Yet, He loved me, died for me and paid the price of my sin.  How could I ever moan or cry unfair?  Instead, as I watch this world plunging itself into Hell’s Eternal fire, how can I not cry forth Jeremiah’s Song to all around me?

Jeremiah’s Song

Hope Eternal in Darkest of Night

Screeching sounds of war all around
Obscuring truth letting evil abound
Desperation, sorrow, and tears
Darkest of night, panic, and fears
How do I hold on? How do I stand?
While people are hurting all over the land
Famine and illness, violence, and crime
Worries of money, pressures of time.

Yet this I remember and recall to mind
He is my hope, His mercy so kind
To even have looked on me with such grace
The gentleness, kindness of His smiling face
Redeemed me despite of my wretched heart
That I might be saved, His heart to impart
Oh, how can I have moaned or have shamefully cried
Against God’s Only Son who was crucified
He never said no, He bore all my shame
With dignity, honor He then did proclaim
Forgive them, Dear Father, I’ll take their place
That is His beauty, His Mercy His Grace

When screeching sounds of war surround
Truth is obscured letting evil abound
When desperation, sorrow, and tears
Fill the darkest night with panic and fears
I will not run and I will not fall
Jesus my Savior my all in all
He is my portion, He is my strength
To finish this race, whatever length
He is the hope to rise high above
Soaring with joy because of His love
Thank you, dear Jesus, You are the one
That lifts up my heart and gives me a song.

So, everyone, everywhere this is my plea
Come to Jesus today, then you will see
He is the hope that your heart desires
The water of life that quenches all fires
He’s waiting, dear friends, with arms open wide
That you humbly bow to sit by His side.
Repentant of sin, give Him your life
He will be your strength overcoming life’s strife.
DO YOU KNOW CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR AND LORD? He is our only Hope in Life and Death! Our Joy is found in Him.

Therefore if you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord: I urge you today. Go to my page titled How to Be Saved by clicking on this link. There is nothing more important than this; because He is the way, the truth and the life. Therefore, I urge you to seek Him today.

You are Truth, Lord and You Alone

You are truth and You alone
So, take this heart that once was stone
Reveal Your will and make it known
That through my life Your light is shown
Into the darkest, dreary night
That all might see Your strength and might
And let me die to selfish pride
That in Your Will I do abide
A beacon of Your love Divine
I am the Branch, You are the Vine

With all that is going on in this world today, let us pause and look to Jesus. Truth perhaps being the thing we seek more than anything else lately. After all as we awaken bewildered in the woke cancel culture with our heads reeling from all the news media proclaiming themselves to proclaim truth. Yet, every one with a different “truth”, meaning none can be. We find ourself, like Pontius Pilate saying, “ What is truth?” (John 18:38).

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6) And “To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. ” (John 18:37) 31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8: 31-32 )

John wrote, “

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John 1:14,16, 17

Truth Proclaimed In Jesus, Alone.

Therefore, let me share with you this poem I wrote; because in this world we will have moments of deep sorrow, pain and suffering. If we keep our eyes focused on Him, we can find hope. We can stand on the truth of His Word to guide us. Therein, we have hope abounding. Even more so as the day of His return approaches and we know that we shall see Him in all of His Glory.

You are Truth, Lord and You Alone

When I feel so lost alone
I turn and look upon Your throne
You, who for my sins did die
To rise again and justify
A wretched heart whose selfish pride
Could never set my Self aside
Until I saw a glimpse of you, Your gaze
That set my soul ablaze
A love burst forth, one greater still
Compels me bow beneath Your will

And when I feel so sad, so down
I then must look upon Your crown
A crown of thorns once pierced Your brow
Exchanged for Glory that somehow
Did then bestow on me Your Grace
So as I gaze upon Your face
Transformed this wretched heart of mine
Reflects Your righteous Heart Divine
As step by step I bow before
The one who doth my life restore

Yet, when I stop to see this world
The sorrow, pain; it’s evil hurled
Upon the foolish, blind, and lost
I then can see the depth, the cost
The weight of sin You chose to bare
For selfish ones who do not care
With hate-filled looks, their brazen stare
Whose hardened hearts do then declare
Themselves as kings yet all the while
Destroying all with Hate and guile

They think themselves so righteous wise
While cloaked with lies their one disguise
Oh, how I hate to see them Lord
Despising You in one accord
Yet, there I see your arms stretched wide
To bid them come to You, abide
To come repentant, sinner come
And bow before Your throne succumb
Unto Your Grace, Your love profound
While singing praise, Salvation’s Sound

So broken, sad my desperate heart
Desires to leave this world, depart
To sit before Your precious throne
And bask within Your love alone
Broken, scarred, no strength, no might
To face the battles, I MUST fight
Yet then I hear Your gentle voice
Bid me to stay and make the choice
To stand once more, Your truth my shield
As to they will I fully yield

In You I have the strength, the might
In darkness, shine Your brilliant light
So, hold me tight within Your hand
That I might do Your will as planned
Your love, your joy will fill each day
You’ll give my lips the words to say
So that the broken, lost alone
May then repent, make You their own
Finding You to be their greatest treasure
A Perfect love beyond all measure

I bid the broken, lost, and sad
Come look upon Your Cross. Be glad!
For You did die to pay their way
And rose again on the third day
If only they would now believe
The gospel truth and there receive
You as their Lord and let You in
You’ll break the binding chains of sin
Wrapped in Your Righteousness alone
They’ll stand before God’s mighty throne

Beloved, Redeemed, a child of God
With Victory now my feet are shod
Spreading the truth so far and wide
Knowing You’re always by my side
So, boldly now, no more to fear
Knowing Your love is oh so near
Empowered with Your Joy and Peace
I march on Lord and must not cease
Until that day You call me home
Upon this broken world I’ll roam

You are truth and You alone
So, take this heart that once was stone
Reveal Your will and make it known
That through my life Your light is shown
Into the darkest, dreary night
That all might see Your strength and might
And let me die to selfish pride
That in Your Will I do abide
A beacon of Your love Divine
I am the Branch, You are the Vine

Concluding Thoughts

So, let us lift our hearts in joy and rejoice as we realize whose we are. He is Truth, Light, Joy, Peace, Victory and Hope. Of that we can be assured. How do I know? He has filled my heart with His presence in a dark, foreboding world. Furthermore, He has loved me when I was most unloveable. Every Prophecy foretold in the scripture came true exactly as foretold, apart from those yet to come. Some are duel fulfillment, once in the past and again in the future. No other book can proclaim that truth written over thousands of years through many languages and human hands. It is amazing, the truth revealed even about today if one takes the time to study His word.

They Command us Now to Silence our Voice

They Command us now to silence our voice
Proclaiming we really don’t have a choice
To think or search for what really is true
You are fools they say, For all is new!
Only speak what’s allowed no more they say
We must agree this is the way
Like blinded sheep we march along
A uniformly thoughtless, lifeless throng

Although the world command us now to Silence our Voice, we must cry out from the mountaintops that Jesus Christ is the Way, The Truth and the Life. There is no other means of salvation, but in Him. If we do not, the rocks will cry out His praise.

They Command us Now to Silence our Voice

They Command us now to silence our voice
Proclaiming we really don’t have a choice
To think or search for what really is true
You are fools they say, For all is new!
Only speak what’s allowed no more they say
We must agree this is the way
Like blinded sheep we march along
A uniformly thoughtless, lifeless throng

Weren’t they the ones who just had said?
How dare we limit what is spread
Of words or thoughts. Such hostility!
If we didn’t embrace relativity
Embracing freedom as their right
We stepped aside and out of sight
Believing in life and liberty
We let them take it all you see

For freedom was never really their goal
Instead, they wanted full control
They think themselves as really God
And never bow beneath His rod
What fools embrace humanity
As always good, why can’t they see
The failures throughout history
Have led to this “woke” society

So, filled with hate and such disdain
Where only violence and fear can reign
If only all would seek God’s face
And therein find the truth of Grace.
Our only hope in Him is found
Eagerly I wait His trumpet’s sound

Until that day I will sing His praise
Bowed on my knees, my arms I raise
To God, my rock my fortress who will stand
Accomplishing all that He has planned
The earth His footstool we will see
The splendor of His majesty

His glory will cover all the earth
His justice, righteousness our mirth
No longer will I silent be
For He has won the Victory!
So let me sing His praise on High
Until my song fills all the skies

WE Must not Silence Our Voice

We were born for such a time as this.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Colossians 2:8

2 Peter 3:

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
