The move is imminent. Everything is falling into place, one thing at a time. God has said to move and God is working out His will. Starting a new job at my age and leaving all that is familiar should cause me apprehension, but instead I am very calm. Why? Because I know that God has ordered I go and it is He that goes before me. I rest in Him. This coming weekend I am having an estate/garage sale. Mom is worrying nonstop with such questions as "What if no one comes? What if nothing sells?" Instead, I am calm. So much to do, I must prepare; yet, I feel the strength of His presence. All the anxieties have left and even her voice of worry does not shake it. When my soul becomes still and I am resting in His Will, there remains no room to become complacent about writing or Bible Study or Prayer. Too often that is exactly what we do. When storms rage around us or mountains lay before us, we urgently seek Him and we run to such verses as those found in Psalm 46 which commands us to be still; but what does being still include?
Psalm 46: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
Being still does not include laziness, instead those things we do during the seasons of great peace help to determine what we do when storms present. So, what are the things we should focus on during the seasons of peace within our soul?
1. Praise. Praise should be continuously on our lips because of WHO HE IS.
2. Study. Keep reading the word, studying His promises, and preparing for the next battle before us.
3. Prayer. Never neglect talking to God about the day, the moment, and all that is happening.
4. Working. In our moments of great peace, we must not stop doing His work. In fact, we can accomplish a lot more for Him when we have laid aside our fears and our doubts.
So, my dear friends, if you are in a season of worry; read Psalm 46 and like David in Psalm 43 preach to yourself the truth of who God is. Psalm 43: "4 Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God." If instead you are in a place of stillness, resting in Him; then do the same and use that moment of stillness to keep praising, keep studying, keep praying and keep working. Either way, I hope this song I found will bring you hope and joy.

Question: Can you remember either a moment of stillness or a moment of turmoil, in which God moved and you were changed?
