God’s Covenant of Love, Grace, and Mercy (part 6)-A New Covenant for Israel

As we saw in Malachi at the very beginning of this series, God remained faithful to His own word.  He has remained faithful to fulfill each part of His covenant with mankind and His covenant with Israel.

GOD has with great patience, mercy, and grace endured the evil of this world perpetrated by the very ones He had created to bestow His love, His Joy and His Glory upon. God despises sin; yet, He has allowed and endured it that those who would believe in and follow Him might fully understand the magnitude of His righteousness, His love, the Joy of His presence, and His Glory.

We have looked at the covenant given to Adam, Noah, Abraham, and Moses. Each step of the way we have seen that God has remained faithful to His covenant of redemption through faith and His faithfulness to fulfill all that He has ordained. As we read through the old Testament, we watch a nation of people wax and wane in their faithfulness; while an Almighty God holds true in His faithfulness.  All that He promised would come to pass.  The corridors of history have shown this to be true.  The redemption song came into full view with the

birth, life, death, and resurrection of Christ.  Some would try to say that the covenant with Israel was now broken completely because they had rejected Christ; and therefore, God has no further covenant with them because of their unbelief.  Some would say that the new covenant only is a covenant with “the church” of all who would accept Christ as their Savior.  Yet, if you look closely at the truth; one would see that there is a New Covenant for Israel also yet to be fulfilled and that God has not abandoned His promise to the Israel Nation (God remains faithful to complete all that He has promised.) During our current era, God still tarries in fulfilling His “New” Covenant with Israel as a nation, while fulfilling the promise to Abraham of being the Father of many nations.  The offer of salvation through faith is being spread throughout the world to all mankind; while, God tarries in the final judgment and the final fulfillment of the New Covenant for Israel.

Jeremiah 31: “31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.35 Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is his name:

God will yet bring Israel to the forefront and will establish them as His People, His Nation and He will ascertain their faith in His redemption plan.  In the interim, we now are in that moment of time whereby all the promises given to Israel through Christ is offered to all who would accept Christ as their Savior from every tribe and nation.  We, who will be grafted into the family of God; are being called out as a peculiar people for God.  How long will God tarry?  We do not know.  How long will He delay final judgment?  We do not know that, either.  When is the moment of salvation?  Now is all we have.  Do you hear Him calling your name?  Then, come and drink from the fountain of living water; accept Christ as your Savior and King while He is calling.

Will you bow your head and sing with me Just As I AM—I Come Broken to Be Mended.  Will you ask Christ into Your Heart today?  For all who know Him as their Savior, take a moment to say thank you for His Faithfulness and His Covenant of redemption through faith-what wondrous Grace, Mercy and Love we have been given!!!
