God’s Covenant of Grace, Love and Mercy (Part 8)-You and me

For the past two weeks we have looked at God’s Covenant Plan of Redemption through faith and to His Faithfulness to complete all that He has determined.  He has drawn out men from the very midst of their “stiff heartedness” to accomplish His Will and His Pleasure of having a people to whom He might lavish His love, joy, and glory.  He displayed His Glory through miracles, prophets, and His presence.  He gave the law that man would recognize their guilt and utter unworthiness before their creator.  Within the law, He provided a sacrificial system which pointed toward Christ’s ultimate sacrifice that would once and for all pay the penalty for our sin.

God remained faithful to His Covenant Plan of redemption.  He has demonstrated this throughout all the corridors of time.  As we pause to look at all the years of history proving His faithfulness—that same faithfulness stands firm to you and to me.  We are able to hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, not because of anything special within us.  We are able to hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering because He is faithful.

Hebrews 10: “ 1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect…10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all…14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, 16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”

Within this Christian pilgrimage—my journey; it has been God who remained faithful to step by step, inch by inch to draw me ever closer to Him.  To do so He has allowed at times great sorrows and sometimes great joys.  It has been His love which drew me out and His love which lead me on.  How could I ever doubt Him?  Why would I ever seek to wander from His presence? The Creator of the Universe loves me and has a perfect plan for my good.  That plan may at times lead through dark valleys that I might seek His light to guide me.  At times it has been necessary that He rip from my hands things I thought were treasures that I might see that He is my greatest treasure.  At times, I have suffered what appears to be loss; that I might gain everything.  Oh, such mystery of the cross when joy and sorrow met that my redemption might be bought.

If you have the chance I recommend you go back to read Glory to Glory-Part 9: The Veil Torn-Where Joy and Sorrow meet.
