Do You Believe in the Sovereignty of God and His Sovereign Grace?

Everything is falling into place.  The move is imminent and so quickly approaching.  There is so much to do, so many details that still must fall into place. Many of those details are not within my control. As I gaze across the horizon, I would shudder at all the potential obstacles that could still arise.  I look within myself and see all the inadequacies, the frailties, and wonder.  Thus, I look ahead, around, within and want to see the end–cross that finish line of this adventure to embark on the future God has planned.  There are still mountains looming in front of me and streams that must be crossed; yet, it all lies within the IMG_0079hands of God.  Why is it that we humans or particularly this human at times wants to fret or worry about that which I have no control over?  Why would I not just trust God with it all? Perhaps with my mind and my mouth, I declare that I trust; yet, there is a small area within my heart that fears?   Do you ever find yourself doing that?  Truly I believe that it comes down to two questions that you must ask yourself.

1.  Do I really believe and understand the Sovereignty of God? Let us look at:  Ephesians 1:11  "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ."  He who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.  He has a plan, His plan for every detail of my life.  He it was that commanded the day and the time that I would be moving.  He who has a designed plan, His plan, His will for my life.  His plan is one that is for my good.

Isaiah 40 " 10 Behold, the Lord God will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young."  He who, Isaiah 40: "12 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?"  The universe fits in the span of His hand.  All of the oceans, rivers, and lakes can be held in the hollow of His hand.  Knowing who He is, how could I ever take even one moment to fret about any of the details.  He has worked out everything after the counsel of his own will.  I need only trust, no matter what.  He has a plan of love that is perfect just for me and all the details He has already worked out even when I don’t understand them.

2.  Do I believe in His sovereign grace?  He has said, Psalm 103: "11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."  His grace is not based on me, it is based on Him, on who He is and all that He has done.  When Christ said, " It is finished."(John 19:30), He proclaimed my victory in Him.  No longer must I worry about my failures of the past.  Often when we worry, we are looking at our own inadequacies and when we do this we take our eyes off of God.  His plan is for our good.  He works all things together for our good. (Romans 8:28)  This is based on His love for me and His finished work at the cross.  If I truly believe this once more, there is no room for any worry.

So, as His redeemed, chosen, and blessed Child in Christ; I can rest comfortably as a lamb before the Lion of Judah.
